A Facinator for Bethany Starr

So I  like creating Facinators and it’s even better when i’m asked to make one for a friend,

When my dear friend Bethany Starr asked me to make her a Facinator to go with her Ball dress for the Blue Moon Ball i was more than happy to oblige.

So Beth gave me some photo’s of her pattern for the dress and jewelry as well as  sending down some material Samples of the fabrics she was making her dress in and i set to work designing something a little special.

I decided on using the fabric samples where i could and i was lucky enough that she had sent me a rather large piece of the black & gold flocked fabric so i decided to use this to cover my base.

I them decided that black & red roses would look stunning on it, but felt it still looks a little naked so I settled on adding a red and gold (from sample maaterial) satin hand made bow and i used a pattern from Natalie Malan Illustration and design I used the normal sized one printed on A4 paper, I did start with the baby one but that was too small against the flowers…. and then when i was trawing through my craft stash for a little something to add to the bow to make it pop i found this gorgeous gold, black & Diamante clip on earring which worked perfectly.

I also decided that it needed a veil on it, but one that was adjustable so that you could fold it up inside the venue and wear it down outside the venue and so this is how the facinator turned out …

I love it and while the gold isn’t a colour i would ever wear it do wish i had my own… and i thnk it worked out well with the dres… doesn’t Bethany Starr Look Fabulous!!
